Best Western / Timber Creek Inn & Suites

The Best Western/Timber Creek Inn & Suites opened on Route 34 on the east side of Sandwich in January of 2008.  The 100 room hotel features 18 two-room suites and 8 whirlpool rooms.  The facility includes over 4000 square feet of banquet rooms, meeting rooms, a restaurant, cocktail lounge, fitness room and indoor swimming pool. 

Timber Creek Convention Center
The Timber Creek Convention Center opened in March of 2008.  It is connected to the hotel and provides 28,000 square feet for meeting large and small.  The Second Annual Home Showcase Expo just concluded.  Throughout the year the convention center has hosted many, many events including weddings, yearly dinner dance meetings for various organizations, various expos and much, much more.  The Convention Center can accommodate up to 1200 people in a 13,500 square foot divisional function room.  Five 600 square foot breakout rooms are available, as is a 7,000 square feet of pre-function space.  Be sure to thank of the Convention Center for conventions, expositions, weddings, dinners, parties and more.

  • 13,500 square feet room, which can be divided into two rooms of roughly 6,750 square feet each or one room at 6,750, one room at 3,000 one room at 3,750.
  • 5 meeting rooms each at 600 square feet.  4 of the 5 rooms may be opened to create one or two larger rooms
  • Pre function space at 7,000 square feet
  • All rooms have ceilings at 23 feet
  • The multi-functional rooms may be used for weddings, parties, meetings, conferences, exhibit space, etc

Valley West Medical Office Building

The Valley West Medical Office Building (MOB) – the largest office building ever constructed in Sandwich – has been completed on the on the 40-acre Valley West Community Hospital Campus. The 38,000 square foot building developed by Irgens Development Partners, LLC of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is home to Sandwich Medical Clinic, Fox Valley Urology, Trinity Women’s Health and the Fox Valley Visiting Nurses Association. Valley. Valley West Community Hospital’s Pain Clinic, Time Share Suite, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Counseling Suite also lease space in the building.

Valley West Community Hospital Expansion

Valley West Community Hospital completed expansion to the hospital in 2008.  The new addition added two new surgical suites and two new OB rooms.  Two new emergency department rooms were added as part of the renovation.  Valley West Community Hospital, which is part of the Kishhealth System, has continued to upgrade their facilities to give their patients top flight services and care.  Valley West Community Hospital is a vital part of not only the city of Sandwich, but for the many communities within it service area.

Waves of Fun Indoor Water Park

Site work has begun on the 17 acre site for the Waves of Fun Indoor Water Park located adjacent to the Best Western Timber Creek Inn and Convention Center. Waves of Fun will feature a 65,000 square feet 5-story complex designed to accommodate 2,000 bathers. Featured attractions at the water park include a 50 foot tall water slide, an ocean surf wave generator, and a lazy river.

“With a capacity of over 1,500, the 5-story Waves of Fun, Inc. resort complex will thrill visitors with numerous state-of-the art attractions including a 50-foot water slide, an ocean-like surf wave generator as well as a lazy river,” said Jim Teckenbrock, Interim Executive Director of the Sandwich Economic Development Corporation. “This spectacular attraction will generate demand for hotel rooms, restaurants, and specialty retail and Sandwich is prepared to work with Inland Real Estate to accommodate demand for commercial development and additional attractions, “Teckenbrock added.

Waves of Fun will compliment the Sandwich Fairground, Sandwich Opera House, and numerous antique, art and craft shops that distinguish Sandwich. Teckenbrock also noted “Waves of Fun and the Timber Creek Best Western hotel convention center will make Sandwich a significant, year-round, regional destination.” “The water park and hotel convention center, with an estimated investment of over $30 million, represent the largest commercial development in the history of Sandwich and one of the largest commercial developments in Kendall County.”

Sandwich Commons Strip Center

The 9,237 square foot Sandwich Commons Strip Center has been completed adjacent to a stoplight entrance in front of the Best Western Timber Creek Inn. The retail center is designed to accommodate general retail and restaurant services.

Church Street Business Center

The Church Street Business Center, a 16,901 square foot Class A office building was completed by Primus Commercial Real Estate in 2007. The building is now the new home of Honig-Bell Coldwell Banker and the future home of Midwest Orthopedics in the near future.

Shalmist Group

The Shalmist Group of Yorkville have developed, purchased, leased and sold several industrial buildings in the Sandwich Industrial Park. Signature Pools & Spas specializing in fiberglass pools and spas lease part of a warehouse on Third Street. The balance of the building is leased by G & L Cut Stones, Inc., specializing in granite and marble counter tops. JDP Machining, specializing in fabricated metal products, tools and general machinery purchased a building on (the southeast corner of) Third and Latham Streets from Shalmist. Century Muffler & Brakes leases the balance of this building.
